AnM.21: STEEPV

STEEPV

Relevance:
Basically what is commonly referred to under the acronym STEEPV is a way of looking at the future in terms of six general subject categories.
Since environmental scanning of both scenario planning and foresight exercises requires information from various fields, they may be grouped under the set of headings of Social, Technological, Economic, Ecologic, Politics and Values. STEEPV framework enables i) appropriate boundaries to be derived and ii) broad trends that influence the objectives to be identified by asking which drivers are important.

Description:
STEEPV are analyses which help to identify and classify factors that have or may have an impact on the evolution of an organisation, an enterprise or a region. In this way, STEEPV places the six themes and their concepts, facts and values in a specific context.

Procedure:
Key change drivers, trends and issues related to the set-out scenario purpose need to be identified in all the fields encompassed by the STEEPV.
